Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
At Willow Clinical Services, several of our therapists are trained
in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and integrate its principles into
both stand-alone treatment and as an adjunct to ongoing individual therapy.
DBT provides practical tools for clients who struggle with intense emotions,
relationship challenges, or patterns of avoidance and self-criticism. Through
skill building and mindful awareness, clients learn how to identify emotional
triggers, respond rather than react, and create a more stable internal experience.
DBT combines acceptance and change strategies, helping clients increase emotional
regulation, tolerate distress, and communicate more effectively in their
relationships. Our clinicians tailor these tools to each person’s needs—whether
woven into broader trauma, addiction, or relational work, or used to reinforce
coping between sessions.
By incorporating DBT alongside other modalities such as CBT, trauma-informed care,
and attachment-based approaches, our therapists help clients strengthen resilience,
develop balanced thinking, and build meaningful lives that align with their values
and goals.
